The Mid North Coast Regional Obesity Summit: Healthy Children and Young People was held on Thursday 16 November 2017.

Healthy Communities Mid North Coast’s inaugural Mid North Coast regional summit focused on one very important issue – the NSW Premier’s priority to reduce childhood obesity by five per cent by 2025.

2017 SUMMIT AIM

To stimulate an action oriented whole of Government regional action plan that aims to intensify efforts to reduce overweight and obesity in children and young people.

2017 SUMMIT OBJECTIVES
  • To hear from key experts about health promoting communities.
  • To hear from the voices of children and young people.
  • To showcase the relevant preventive health initiatives for children and young people across the Mid North Coast.
2017 SUMMIT EVALUATION

Key findings from the Summit evaluation conclude that both the Summit aim and objectives were achieved.

An online evaluation survey concluded that 85.46% of respondents (people who attended the Summit) were either satisfied or very satisfied with the Summit program.
